Scanty rainfall damages tea crops in Siliguri

Siliguri, Feb 04 (ANI): With less rainfall, tea crops in West Bengal have undergone severe damage, leading to loss in yield and sale. Tea plantations in Siliguri city have dried and damaged because of inadequate rainfall, which is required for a better crop production. The tea farms were irrigated through cisterns of water, which was spread to the entire plantations. Tiwari added because of less production, the markets will face a crisis in the tea export business.
There would be an average 10% loss in the tea production this year. Seal added the tea leaves are shaky and weak as compared to the crops of last year.
