Robots designed at Oslo University can learn from their mistakes and adapt to changes in their environment. Not only can they assess their own performance, they can also repair and improve themselves. After diagnosing their needs, they can make the new parts they need on their 3D-printer. These autonomous robots could be especially useful in responding to natural disasters or exploring space.
