EU: Is agriculture getting greener? (part 2)
Farming takes the largest chunk of the EU budget, some 50 billion euros. It's recently been reformed with aims to "go greener" but it is still not without controversy. Talking Europe brings you two special programmes on the Common Agricultural Policy. We meet the commissioner who is behind it and find out how changes are affecting farmers and their produce across Europe.
In this second half, we head to Belgium to meet Pekka Pesonen, the head of one of the largest European farming lobbies, Copa-Cogeca. We also speak to Belgian MEP Marc Tarabella during a walk in a beautiful Belgian orchard.
With reports on farming from our correpondents in Italy and Germany.
This programme was produced with the support of the European Union.
A programme presented by Eve Irvine
Produced by Isabelle Romero and Jean-Christophe Felt
