Airlift is an upcoming Indian film directed by Raja Krishna Menon, and starring Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur in lead roles.[2] The film is scheduled for release on 22 January 2016.[3] The film is based on biggest evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait war. In February 2015, principal photography of the film was started.[10][11] The first schedule of the film were reportedly shot in Ras al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates in early March 2015.[12] The sets were re-created to depict Kuwait during 1990.[13] The second schedule of the film was shot in Rajasthan, India.[14] Kumar and Kohli reportedly learnt Arabic language for their roles.
