This Asana strengthens the muscles of lower abdomen.
This is beneficial in digestion and removes constipation.In the final position of this Asana the shape of the body resembles a locust and hence it is called Salabhasana.

Precautions:-
[1] Those suffering from high blood pressure, heart disease or having complaint of asthma, should not practice it.

Benefits:
Shalabhasana is useful for stomach., Lumber, waist portions and to the legs. Practice of this asana removes constipation. The waist remains trim if you practice Shalabhasana regularly.
