Maya the Bee is the key character of the German comic book called The Adventures of Maya the Bee, which is also a much loved animated television series. The story portrays the developing of a small bee by the name of Maya: she evolves from a courageous insect bee to a diligent member of the bee society. Her friend Willy, also a bee, is her faithful companion, as is Flip, who is a grasshopper and Barry, a fly. Maya is a bee who loves freedom and living in her adored meadow by herself and not in hives like other bees. Also, Maya is a happy and good little bee, ready and eager to help everyone. Maya is colored like a wasp (yellow and black), in spite of being a bee.
In this play set, there are two figures included – one of Maya the bee and the other of Barry the fly, with his familiar red goggle-glasses. Also featured in the set are a carousel, a vehicle and Maya’s beehive. There is a vessel for water for the aqua park, as well as a carousel in the shape of a flower and other accessories, mostly floral. Also, there is a swing made from a flower.

They got hours of play from this set, dunking Maya and Barry into the aqua park and using all the little flowers to help them have fun.
