POMONA, CALIFORNIA — Police are looking for a male suspect accused of killing a California woman by setting her ablaze on Christmas Day.

According to a statement issued by the Pomona police department, Clarence Duwell Dear, 51, and Dawn Hensley, 41, were involved in an intense argument at their residence in Pomona on Christmas Day.

The argument then escalated to violence with Dear chasing Hensley outside the house and doused her with gasoline before setting her afire possibly with a lit cigarette.

Neighbours saw Hensley running engulfed in flames before collapsing on the street. She died shortly after arriving a hospital, CNN reported.

Dear remains at large. Pomona police warned the public that he should be considered extremely dangerous.
