Sexy novelty DJ and model Angie Vu denied bail on child abduction charges

NEW YORK — A Brooklyn judge denied bail on Monday for a Vietnamese-born DJ facing child abduction allegations from the father of her child.
The New York Daily News reports that Angie Vu, known for being a sexy DJ and model for Playboy, was arrested New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport on November 3. Vu had been attempting to board a flight to China with her nine-year-old daughter Isabella when she was taken into custody by federal marshals. The girl's biological father and legal guardian, Richard Froger, reported Vu to the authorities for abduction after she failed to bring Isabella back to France.
Vu has claimed that Froger never wanted the child in the first place, and was absent for the first seven years of the girl's life. He reappeared later, allegedly obtaining legal custody of their daughter from the French courts by portraying her as an unfit mother, according to the New York Post. Vu told the Post that Froger showed provocative photos of her to the judge, painting her as a tramp and saying she was a porn star.
Though Brooklyn Magistrate Judge Viktor Pohorelsky sympathized with Vu, only special circumstances, such as a terminal illness, would be sufficient grounds to release her.
