Steven Gerrard street brawl L A Galaxy Liverpool FC
ENGLAND football legend Steven Gerrard appears to throw a punch during a street brawl captured on CCTV outside a bar.

The ex-Liverpool ace, 35, seems to aim two punches at Paul Lloyd as an argument spills out of control on the pavement.

His glamorous wife Alex, dressed in heels, can also be seen as part of the melee.

A court previously heard testimony that the LA Galaxy midfielder was trying to defuse the ruck.

Prosecutor Richard Haworth told a court: “Mr Gerrard was seeking to avoid any involvement or any form of aggression or confrontation, and as far as he was concerned was attempting to defuse the situation.”

The Sun on Sunday understands that three people were interviewed under caution on suspicion of affray earlier this year.

However no action was taken against despite Merseyside Police “reviewing” CCTV and discussing it with the CPS.

At the time of the flare-up, Gerrard was the England captain at the beginning of the season running up to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The FA has a strict code of conduct which insists that England stars act as “role models” and the Reds star previously spoke of the importance of respecting the Three Lions captaincy.

Gerrard clashed with hotel owner Lloyd, 35, in the street after an argument in Woodward’s Winebar, in Liverpool’s upmarket Formby area, on August 4, 2013.

The Sun On Sunday has obtained CCTV of the incident – which was not shown at a subsequent court trial where Gerrard was portrayed by prosecutors as a peacemaker.

A friend of Lloyd explained: “Paul was out in the evening with a mate and went to Woodward’s for a quick drink. Steven and Alex were in there with a big party.

“Paul, who lived near Gerrard, got chatting to him. It was the day after Gerrard had played his testimonial game against Olympiakos which Liverpool won 2-0.

“There was a disagreement and Paul left.”
