Cops foil teens' school rampage plot after Instagram post lead

ARGENTINE, MICHIGAN — Three teenagers were arrested on October 29 in for plotting a shooting rampage at Linden High School and Linden Middle School.
Information was not released until police and the FBI confirmed everyone involved was in custody, USA Today reported.
The alleged shooting was to be carried out on October 30. On October 29, police arrested 18-year-old Ryan Stevens thanks to an Instagram post and information obtained by a school resource officer on October 28, Michigan Live reported.
From Stevens' phone, police then linked 15-year-old Lamar Dukes, and 15-year-old Cody Brewer to the shooting plot. Police obtained information that included the purchase of firearms and possible targets inside both schools, according to WXYZ 7 Action News.
"There were potential targets at the high school and the middle school," Argentine Police Chief Daniel Allen was quoted by MLive saying. "From what we gathered they didn't really care who else got in the way either."
The three have now been charged with murder conspiracy and false report or threat of terrorism. If convicted, they could spend their life in prison.
An investigation is ongoing and a motive seems to be emerging, Allen told USA Today.
