Gay couple of 45 years wants marry. The only hiccup? They're father and son

PITTSBURGH — After being together for 45 years, same sex couple Nino Esposito, 78, and Roland Bosee, 68, want to get married, but since they are legally father and son through adoption, they are facing red tape on their way to the altar[a].
According to CNN, Esposito legally adopted Bosee in 2012, so that they could have some basic rights given to married straight couples like inheritance, and hospital visitation rights. Their request to have the adoption annulled so they can get married was rejected by Allegheny County Judge Lawrence O'Toole on June 8th, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazelle reported.
They have appealed the decision to the State Superior Court, and are awaiting a hearing expected to happen in December, The New York Daily News reported. Same-sex marriage was outlawed in the United States prior to May of this year, but some couples are still facing challenges as antiquated laws stand in the way of a complete implementation of equal marriage rights.
Mr. Bosee told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazelle: "We'll make sure we don't cross too many streets, and that we take all our pills. We're just hoping this happens before one of us is dead."
