'PM should take intellectuals' protest seriously'

Sachin Pilot today said that it’s demeaning that government is terming intellectuals’ protest as a “publicity stunt”. “Authors, writers and other intellectuals are returning awards not for garlands, but they are doing so to protest the rising intolerance in the country,” he said. Pilot also sought the prime minister’s intervention in the matter. “It’s demeaning on government’s part to term their protest as a publicity stunt and anti-BJP. It’s a human issue, societal issue. The image of the country is at stake and the prime minister should take the matter seriously,” he said.
