Michaël Goldberg on unmixing records and movies

We can take very old records and very old movies, where music is very important, and we can separate different instruments which play on those musical tracks and place them in the “stereo field” and give a real impression of “space” when music plays although they were recorded in mono. That means they sound much clearer and much shiny [brighter], which means a very modern sound, and, in the end, it just means that we can bring all those very old records to a new life and---why not?---make [let] lots of people discover them.
