In this video I'm going to be talking about taurine benefits, and share some tips on getting it.

In your body you have something known as amino acids that are used to build things such as skin, hair, nails and muscles. Taurine is a non essential amino acid. This means you can create the amino acid in your body.

If you might be thinking that if our body makes taurine then why do I need to take in a dietary supplement or why is it in energy drinks? Those are great questions. The answer is that taking more of it could provide some benefits that you might like.

For example, it can help with exercise. I like studies because it's real, it's like proof. In a study published in the Journal of Cardiology 29 patients with heart failure were either given a supplement with 1,500 MG of Taurine or a placebo. Exercise time and distance increased significantly in patients who took a taurine supplement.

Another big way that taurine can be helpful is with heart disease, which is a major problem around the world. In a study published in the European Journal of Nutrition researchers looked at 14 thousand women and women with high taurine levels were 60% less likely to develop or die from coronary heart disease than those with low taurine levels.

If that wasn't enough there are studies that show that high levels of taurine can help with diabetes, tinnitus (which is ringing in the ears), vision, liver disease and seizures,

Taurine is found in foods such as eggs, milk, seafood and meat and the average person gets around 60 mg. If you take a dietary supplement of course you can get a lot more. Getting a quality supplement with taurine isn't that easy, because there are so many choices and the industry is unregulated. This means that companies can create whatever products they want, and there is a lot of junk out there.
