All Right Railfans, Today was a good day for railfanning, except I have a mess in the video department with all this editing. I've seen #73R which is this empty Belmont Coal Train who will head up to Asheville, #204, #750 again this week with 3 Catfish, #212 & #213. Let's get started.
I had just got and I saw the dwarf signal on the Pocket Track was an approached signal, and I had a feeling that we will see an empty hopper train come out of Duke Power. So I got setup and heard a horn at 5th St. And a few minutes later, here he is, NS #8997, (Fmr. CR) #8210 & #9555 pull up towards the signal so the rear of the train's crew can set the switch from the Duke Power track to the Belmont Pocket and then went back and take the train close to North Belmont over the Catawba River, and most of you have probably know we are under a very serious drought here and under very tight water resrictions, some people are worried that the Plant could shut down because of these conditions and the Governor of NC earlier this week said that he wants all North Carolinians to conserve as much water as they can, I mean we haven't seen big huge rain washouts for months and Thursday the 18th we are expecting rain, but it will not be a drought buster.
And then after the engines have moved onto the mainline and as soon as Junior gave them a signal, they we okay to go, and then as the units pass on through me, both catfish had their bells going, I've had that happen several times.
