Your skin is the outermost organ of your body and it reflects everything that's happening on the inside. So if you are experiencing inflammation on your skin, there is a good chance you are inflamed on the inside as well. In this video Anisa Noor, holistic expert, is going to teach you how to attack inflammation from within with a warm roasted kale salad and a honey turmeric dressing. You'll also learn how to calm inflammation on your skin with a DIY turmeric facial mask.
Warm Roasted Vegetable Salad Ingredients: 2 Cups Winter Vegetables (Anisa is using Sweet Potatoes, Butternut Squash and Eggplant) 1 Cup chopped red onion 1/2 Cup of garlic cloves, peeled and halved ½ tsp salt ½ dried garlic powder 1 head of Kale Feta cheese for garnish Toasted Pumpkin Seeds for garnish
Steps: -Start by tossing all ingredients (except for kale and cheese) to coat. - Drizzle with olive oil and place in the broiler for 15 - 18 minutes to roast. - Allow your vegetables to cool slightly. Toss the chopped kale with the dressing (recipe below), add vegetables and sprinkle with feta and pumpkin seeds.
Honey Turmeric Dressing
Ingredients: 1 tsp of turmeric 1/2 tsp sea salt 1/2 tsp coarse ground black pepper 2 tsp honey 3 Tbsp fresh lemon juice 1/2 avocado 1/4 Cup of olive oil
Steps: -Combine all of the ingredients in a food processor or a blender. -Pulse
Steps: -Mix these ingredients together -Apply an even thin coating on the face and allow to dry, 10 - 15 minutes.
***Warning Turmeric can stain your clothing, sink, or tub, so be careful to remove mask with paper towels.***
