International Actors Focus on Syrian Crisis
  • 9 years ago
The presidents of Russia and the United States discussed the Syrian crisis outside the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly, but no definitive conclusions came from their talks. According to a spokesperson for a Syrian legislative committee, the United States has tried to control the region, but its unilateral policy is collapsing and Russia is emerging as a counterweight. In another initiative, the French have proposed the creation of a buffer zone, or safe zone, as a solution to the Syrian refugee crisis. At the same time a French parliamentary delegation continues to visit cities in Syria. Hazem Abdullah reports from Syria for teleSUR
