A Japanese centenarian has set a fresh record as the world's oldest competitive sprinter - he did it just one day after turning 105.

Miya-zaki Hide-kichi has set the record at a competition in Kyoto. He clocked 42 point 22 seconds at a 100 meters race in the over-105 age category. But he fell short of his personal best and he is not happy about it. Miyazaki's own personal record was 34 point 10 seconds. He made the achievement when he was 103 year-old. The record remains unbeaten among centenarians.
