Filmmaker Darren Aronofsky has directed two movies in the last few years that ended with the protagonist making a noteworthy jump or fall to the ground. Now, the Oscar-nominated storyteller is lining up to work on a biopic about a man who’s known primarily for jumping and falling. Aronofsky is reported to be circling a biopic about the legendary stuntman Evel Knievel, with Channing Tatum lined up to star. Tracking Board was the first to break the news, while sites like The Hollywood Reporter have since confirmed that Aronofsky is in talks to direct the project – currently titled Pure Evel. An Evel Knievel movie is such a no-brainer that it’s surprising it hasn’t been made already. Knievel was a larger-than-life cultural figure in the 1970s and ‘80s and one of the more colorful celebrities of his time.
