Ahmedabad: Free cochlear treatment offers new hope for 170 deaf kids - Tv9 Gujarati

Ahmedabad: The world has completely changed for 170 children. The parents of these kids never thought that their deaf children would ever be able to live a normal life. However, their dream became a reality. A cochlear implant (CI) is a surgically implanted electronic device that helps producing sound to a person who is profoundly deaf. After the state government included this surgery under the school health programme in December 2013, the city civil hospital operated upon 170 kids.
