Kg Buah Pala: Offer ends tomorrow

The controversial eviction and demolition issue at Kampung Buah Pala continue to be tense.
Citizen journalist Chan Lilian was given to understand that majority of the villagers are not accepting the offer of a house given by the developer, Nusmetro as ex-gratia compensation. Resident association secretary, C Tamaraj said it is a cluster house and is too small for the extended families living in Kampung Buah Pala.
There are 24 house owners but 41 families living there. This afternoon, on the 6th of August 2009, the state government, Deputy Chief Minister One, YB Mansor revealed the draft plan of the house to members of the press.
Meanwhile CM Lim Guan Eng also informed that there is even a plan for a Hindu temple to be build on the land which will be shared by the 24 house owners and the developers project, The Oasis.
The deadline is tomorrow, Friday 7 August 2009 at 12 noon. Will the villagers accept or are they going to lose their current homes, with no ex-gratia compensation if they refused?
