Khalid was also quizzed about Selangor speaker Teng Chang Khim's revelation in a Malaysian Insider report, saying that the practice of issuing support letters is widespread and that he himself has issued them.
Khalid damped possible controversy, saying this has been the practice in government. However, he said what is different is the focus of the letter.
"Previously it was to show the power of the MPs and ministers. If you can get a support letter from the PM, then you are really great.
"However in Pakatan our focus has shifted to issues relating to welfare like (recommending assistance for) single mothers, (students) and sick people."
