Bangkung Row celebrates Malaysia Day - Part II

In celebration of Malaysia Day's 47th anniversary and inaugural public holiday, NGOs, civil society groups and individuals got together for their own recognition of an auspicious occasion while the government's response has been subdued.

When PM Najib Razak announced the holiday last year, he seemed to have done so begrudgingly because it was seen more of a result of indirect pressure from the opposition parties, rather than from his own motivation.

For the first ever Malaysia Day public holiday, lawyer, restauranteur and event organiser Edward Soo, got together with friends and organised a Malaysiaku street carnival on Bangkung Row in swank Bangsar and for the second part of our feature on this event, we interview the man himself.
