MARCH 10 2014, A Date That Will Live in Infamy And. A VERY BAD DAY INDEED FOR WATERVILLE AIRPORT

A defiant Kings County Council has rejected the local citizens and ordered the very much opposed closure and end to the 70+ yrs existence of our historic fully operational Waterville Municipal Airport CCW3 along with its internationally known flight training school and pilot licencing facility, along with a very popular well-known Canadian sky diving facility,, as well as, home to numerous local private aircraft and hangars, as well as, host to many tourists and brief stop over aircraft, and also, base for landing, mechanic and refilling services, as well as, provider of numerous local area spin-off jobs and a lucrative source of business and tourism revenue for the area, as well as, base for our local young Air Cadets and a learning center for hands-on aviation practice and study ? They then practically give away the now gutted bare land to an outside foreign business source for a bargain price ?
Kentville Nova Scotia - Warden Brothers, CAO Tom MacEwan and Kings County Council have ignored the desperate pleas of the local community and the pleas of the local business community and the pleas of the entire Canadian aviation community and proceeded to order the forced closure and the end of the historic Waterville Municipal Airport CCW3 ? It is sad to see such an active, thriving popular and well-known Canadian Aviation facility and mainstay of the local community suddenly forced into closure for no legitimate, sane, or logical reason, and to see the many local businesses, owners, employees, and families forced to abandon their current base of operations while watching helplessly as their longtime home is ordered terminated by Kings County Council to be then bulldozed by their local demolition crew before then being practically given away to an outside foreign international Corp. at a ridiculous low give-away bargain price while those that had worked so hard and tirelessly for over years of time to gradually build, establish and maintain this fully operational Aeropark are left homeless, ruthlessly evicted, anonymous, unrewarded, unrecognized and unappreciated ?
On Feb 22 2014 MP Leo Glavine, ( a close ally to the Premier and the current Minister of Health not the Minister of Transportation ) came to Kentville on behalf of his Liberal Provincial Government to apparently praise, applaud and support the tremendous worth and value of the Waterville Municipal Airport CCW3 calling it a wonderful service and second busiest Airport in the Province ! But, on Mar 10th, 2014, only 16 days after such flattering accolades from this Liberal Government representative, Kings County Council led By Warden Brothers ( home riding Greenwood ) and CAO Tom MacEwan held backroom meetings with County Council where they voted in private to close down Waterville Airport complex and forcefully evict all businesses..
