Close to 5,000 migrants rescued in Mediterranean, tension decreases on Greek-Macedonian border

Rome, Aug 23 (EFE).- Some 4,700 migrants were rescued by the Italian navy, coast guard and border patrol, assisted by ships from other European countries, in the Strait of Sicily during a 24-hour period this weekend, officials said Sunday.
