April 26, 2013, Klang: DAP National Chairperson Karpal Singh reiterates that despite the offer of PAS for DAP candidates to stand under the PAS banner if the party's Rocket logo had not been allowed by the elections commission, the party remains steadfast in its opposition to an Islamic State.

Singh says that their opposition to an Islamic State is because it is not provided for under the Federal Constitution.

However he says the DAP accepts that Islam is the country's official religion while other religions are allowed to be practised peacefully.

Singh is also Pakatan Rakyat's candidate for Bukit Gelugor, stated the party's appreciation to PAS for the use of the Islamist party's symbol had the Rocket been disallowed. This is said reflected on the coalition's unity and cooperation.
