Behind The Frequency: Political control of Indonesia's media

We were at the screening of Di Balik Frekuensi /Behind the Frequency a documentary about media owned by politicians in Indonesia. It tells the story of Luviana a broadcast journalist with Metro TV who was victimised by her employers as she campaigned for better conditions for her colleagues.

Also in this story that shows the power of politicians owning media is the effort of two victims of the Lapindo mudslide. Hari Suwandi and Harto Wiyono took on a presidential candidate who is also a 'media mogul' for compensation for the victims.
