Methodist College Kuala Lumpur(MCKL) introduced the Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) programme as part of the pre-university programme since the year 2000. The 11-month AUSMAT programme is offered by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) of Western Australia and is well-structured with a balanced emphasis on coursework and a final written examination.
Academic scores are based on on-going internal assessments and a final external examination to be held in November. Successful students are awarded the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE).
The AUSMAT qualification is internationally recognised for admission of students to renowned universities in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Singapore and many other foreign countries, as well as to local private institutions of higher learning.
