[Part 1] The Korean War, a Civil War? Or an International Affair?
The Remaining Tasks on the Korean Peninsula, 62 Years After the Armistice Agreement...
June 25, 1950, the Korean War erupts.
The three-year long war comes to a halt following the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement on July 17, 1953. This does not signal the end of the war but a cease-fire which remains in place, with the two countries committing to the fragile peace-treaty.
The Korean Peninsula continues the world's longest cease-fire and remains the only divided nation. Why did the Korean War break out?
How does the generation of today see the state of the divided peninsula and the possibility of unification?

"They made Korea a divided nation without asking the Korean people's opinion or intent on the matter" (Bruce Cumings, Professor at the University of Chicago, Author[The Origins of the Korean W])

"The Korean War was the combination of a civil and an international war... With the involvement of stronger nations, the war became a more cruel and destructive war." (Charles Armstrong, Professor at Columbia University)

"South Korea's internal affairs need to be addressed before inter-Korean conflicts can be solved." (PARK Tae-gyun, Professor at Seoul National University GSIS)
