The Facebook page, which the Gazette is not naming out of respect for the privacy of those mentioned on it, was condemned by many parents in the community, including some who reported it to Taunton police.
The page is now followed by nearly 600 users since it appeared a few days ago, but it has been inactive since Monday night after issuing a series of posts singling out girls by name -- insulting them or making lewd sexual comments -- and publishing racy, partially nude photographs of others in what it refers to as a "purge."
Kourtnie DeMoranville, of Taunton, said her 14-year-old niece came to her telling her that she and a 15-year-old friend were targeted by the page, with insults and anonymously posted photographs.
DeMoranville said she visited the page on Monday night and saw a photo of a topless 12-year-old girl, which was later removed by the page, she said.
