About the phone conversation between Reni and Kanako:
There are words in Japanese that have the same pronunciation, but different meanings.
Reni used the word "hanashi" and the more polite way "ohanashi". But this word could mean two things.
話し (hanashi) = talk
離し (hanashi) = separate/let go
Kanako thought Reni was saying 話ししたい (want to talk), but Reni was trying to be too polite and said お離ししたい (want to "hang up" the phone), which caused all this confusion. =p
