Surat: As per the information, around 8,000-9,000 workers have been sacked by diamond businessmen. But authorities of Surat Diamond Association have denied the same. Due to a lack in demand for polished diamonds, there is a significant drop in the amount of rough diamonds that are imported for polishing from foreign countries.
