What makes the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia's 6th unilateral ceasefire significant is that the government has reciprocated with a commitment to deescalate the conflict. This poses the possibility of a bilateral ceasefire before a final settlement is reached. Peace talks are moving forward, with agreements on three of five agenda points.
