Way Down Yonder in New Orleans - Dutch Swing College Band 1985.
Almost every Dutchman who knows the Dutch Swing College Band knows their signature tune Way Down Yonder. Almost always it is a short version played without solos. Here in May 1985 at a broadcast for the occasion of their 40th aniversary they play this tune with several solos included. Sytze van Duyn on trumpet and Bert Boeren trombone, the two new members in the band do a stunning exchange chorus. After that a combined solo between leader Peter Schilperoort on soprano sax and Bob Kaper on clarinet. Tha last soloists are drummer Huub Janssen together with bassist Henk Bosch van Drakesteyn. Pianist Fred McMurray is not in the picture in this clip.
