Platinum recording artist Mani Hoffman is no stranger to millions of music fans in Europe, where his electro pop song "Starlight" for The Superman Lovers hit the top of the charts and secured his reputation with other European bands like DJ Fudge, Jealousy and even Petula Clark, who he composed for and sang with in 2012.
Now French-born Mani is re-inventing himself in Miami with Freedom In the Groove, a soul-funk band supported by veteran South Florida musicians Bill Muter on tuba, Drew Tucker on vibraphone and Doug Carter on keyboards.
"We wrote the song for Balcony TV the night before the Miami crew filmed the video," says Mani. "It just came together and these musicians with me -- Drew and Bill and Doug -- are amazing."
Freedom in the Groove is busy in the studio recording, and playing gigs across South Florida with a view to releasing an EP soon.
