Ceyl’an Ertem moved to Istanbul in 1999 for musical singing and musicology education. In 2000, she founded the rock band ‘anima’ together with Tunçay Korkmaz. In 2006, band’s debut album ‘animasal’ was released with Sony Music label. In 2008, upon the band’s split, she started hosting the radio show ‘cadı avı’ in Açık Radyo. She produced music with Phillipp Gropper in Germany, with United Fools in France, with Barana in Holland, recorded album with Barana and toured Europe.
In 2010, her solo debut album ‘Soluk’ and in 2012 her second album ‘Ütopyalar Güzeldir’ was released. Both albums got positive reviews from many music critics and was among the most successful albums of the year.
The album she recorded with Barana ‘Xenolopolis’ was released under Baykuş Music label.
Ceyl’an Ertem’s third album ‘Amansız Gücenik’ was released on November 2014 with Sony Music label. Various extremely talented musicians accompanied to Ertem in the album. Produced by Can Güngör, album contains a new Yıldız Tilbe song. The album, where prominent songwriters like Mabel Matiz, Elif Çağlar has contributed, has 12 original songs and 2 covers.
Ceyl’an Ertem, whom we’ll see at Jazzahead stage in April, continues to perform both in Turkey and abroad continually.
