Inspired by the novel by Aharon Appelfeld, the film depicts the story of Tsili, a young girl caught up in the horrors of the Second World War.
After her family is sent to the camps, Tsili hides in the forest, sheltering from hatred and mankind, until Marek suddenly appears, a stranger who speaks to her in Yiddish.
