PRESENTED BY JOANNE COLLINS

PRODUCED BY JOHN HOUGH & JOANNE COLLINS

At an early age, Shane Joyce was influenced by the songs of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and the ninety mile an hour writings of beat poets Jack Keroauc and Allen Ginsberg. At fifteen, he picked up his first guitar, an old nylon string, and soon after the songs started to fall out. And they have been coming ever since.

Though still strongly influenced by those folk heroes of his past, in recent years, Shane has been able to gain new influence from a multitude of other facets of writing, so that everything from the likes of Ernest Hemingway to T. S. Eliot to more recent artist such as Phosphorescent and Laura Marling may find their way into Shane's work.

His musical career began by busking on the streets of Kilkenny city, where he was picked up one day by bass player Brian McGrath, who had been looking for a singer for his new band and soon americana/folk group The Midnight Union Band was formed. With the band Shane continues to tour and put out records.

Shane Joyce music is a new outlet to allow for the constant flow of new songs with tours and releases set for the future.
