American climbing is in an incredibly strong position right now and this video shows exactly why that is. As well as having exceptional male athletes like Nathaniel Coleman on their team, America has probably the strongest line-up of competition-focused female climbers of any country on Earth. At this year's Vail round of the bouldering world cup, America fielded sixteen female competitors of whom five made it to semis with Margo Hayes and Megan Mascarenas progressing into the final. All of this was achieved while arguably their strongest competitor, Alex Puccio, was sidelined with a season-ending injury. In this episode of The Bubble, we take a look at how America's best female climbers train together in the epicentre of American climbing, Boulder, Colorado as well as getting a detailed view of how Alex Puccio's season came to an end and how Megan Mascarenas prepped for her incredible victory in Vail.
