Disgraceful scenes taking place on a pitch in Argentina have come precedence because the brother of an Argentine international attacked a referee in a lower league match.

Alejandro Roncaglia, brother of Fiorentina defender Facundo Roncaglia, sucker punched referee Arnaldo Beron after he was shown a yellow card.

Knocked out, Beron fell to the floor and other players on the pitch hurried to his aid.

The match, between Ferro and Tiro Federal, was abandoned as Beron had to be taken to hospital by an ambulance that arrived 15 minutes after the attack.

Beron required stitches and, after returning home, had to go back to hospital on Monday after showing signs of dizziness.

Un árbitro recibió una trompada de Alejandro Roncaglia, hermano del jugador de la selección argentina Facundo Roncaglia. El hecho de violencia se dio en el marco de un encuentro entre Tiro Federal y Ferro, en Chajarí, provincia de Entre Ríos.

La denuncia fue radicada por el propio referee Arnaldo Berón tras ser atendido por el personal del Hospital Santa Rosa. Luego del golpe, quedó inconsciente por unos minutos y en el nosocomio, recibió 2 puntos de sutura debido a la herida.

El comisario Jorge Peray señaló que el juego se desarrollaba con suma normalidad y que el violento acto surgió en una jugada aislada.
