The White House spokesman, Josh Earnest, announced this week an extra 450 non-combat troops to back up the 3,000 US military advisors already in Iraq. For four days after a general election where his AKP failed to garner a supermajority, Recep Tayyip Erdogan stayed silent, a silence broken only on Thursday.
