Q & A Composition Part 1

So as far as what makes a great photo, there’s a bunch of different ingredients that are involved, I think. The first one is the composition, is how the image is composed in the camera and there’s either a kind of a classic composition which will give a kind of classic, timeless look, the subject if framed in a certain part of the camera and it really gives a nice classic timeless look and then you can have more artistic composition where you’re breaking all the traditional rules of how you compose a photo and you might have the subject be just tiny in the frame or you know have them, half their heads cut off or whatever and this is a more artistic composition.

For me in weddings I want a combination of both, I want to have some just classic, timeless, traditional composition photos and I also want to experiment and play and you end up with some great shots that you wouldn’t have otherwise gotten unless you kind of let yourself break all rules so I think the composition is the first major ingredient that comes into having a great photo.
