Venezuela and Argentina are among 72 countries being recognized for their efforts to eradicate hunger. Venezuelan Vice President Jorge Arreaza, speaking before world leaders gathered in Rome on Monday at the biannual conference of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), said that the public policies implemented by the Venezuelan government in the Bolivarian Revolution have allowed the country to reduce hunger and poverty for a more equitable distribution of resources. In recent years, Venezuela has spent 62% of its income on social investment.
