The Philippines bagged its first gold medal in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games in Singapore with Ma. Claire Adorna prevailing in the Women’s Triathlon competition.

Adorna, 21, finished the 3-activity race with a time of 2:13:08, inching out second-placer Kim Mangrobang (2:14:26), who’s also from the Philippines. Thai Sanruthai Arunsiri clocked in at third with a time of 2:22:08.

After the accomplishments of both athletes, the Philippines now has a total of one gold, 4 silvers, and a bronze in its medal tally.
