From the early '80s of the Los Angeles punk subculture emerged the band Tex & The Horseheads. An original member of the group was Jeffrey Lee Pierce who highly influenced the sound and style of the band. Tex & The Horseheads are often citaded as among the first band to play cowpunk, a fusion of classic styled c & w music and a street-tough LA punk rock.
