The Diary of a Teenage Girl is an upcoming American drama film directed and written by Marielle Heller, based on the graphic novel The Diary of a Teenage Girl: An Account in Words and Pictures by Phoebe Gloeckner. The film stars Kristen Wiig, Alexander Skarsgård, Bel Powley, Christopher Meloni, Quinn Nagle, and Austin Lyon. The film premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. The rights to the film were acquired by Sony Pictures Classics on January 26, 2015.[3][4] The film is scheduled to be released on August 7, 2015
