What in the weird? A paper published in the journal Archives of Sexual Behaviour presents details of 22-year-old Illinois man Brad - not his real name - the recorded case of eproctophilia, a.k.a. having a fart fetish.

His sexual interest in farts blossomed when a high school classmate passed wind in class. It was "rather appealing in sound and I found myself fixating on it," he said.

Eproctophiles, are said to spend an abnormal amount of time thinking about farting and have fantasies involving farting and flatulence, the paper notes.

Brad says at first he didn't want to admit he was into farts, but decided to experiment now enjoys both the sound and smell.

The paper's author, Mark Griffiths, an academic at Nottingham Trent University in the UK, says the prevalence of fart lovers is assumed to be negligible given that no previous case studies have ever been published.
