Hong Kong Disneyland: We speak Cantonese first!

Hong Kong Disney land draws a lot of tourists from mainland tourists. As such, staff had been instructed to speak Mandarin to visitors. But Vice President Damian Lee has told staff to switch to speaking Cantonese first. He claims thenewly implemented tactic has boosted revenue of Hong Kong Disneyland by 18%.

This tactic was simply prioritizing Cantonese over Mandarin Chinese because Hong Kongers might be offended if they were spoken to in Mandarin Chinese. Disregarding that almost half of the tourists are from Mainland China.
