A car was set on fire at the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) in Malacca, Malaysia just before midnight Tuesday (November 19). A bomb threat was issued the same day at the facility at Jalan Hang Tuah, according to The Star Online.

The UTC building reportedly belongs to Dunia Melayu Dunia Islam (DMDI), which is owned by the state government. It promotes inter-racial and religious activities between Malays and Muslims and other national and global communities.

It is not known who set fire to the Proton Inspira in the carpark. Two security guards managed to stop the flames before the blaze spread to adjacent vehicles.

A threatening note that was found on the windshield of a nearby car warned that a bomb had been placed at the centre. The note also targeted DMDI board of directors member and general manager Mashita Datuk Wira Ismail. However, a bomb disposal team and a police canine unit did not find any trace of explosives during a four-hour search of the premises.
