Mother, son killed in car crash in Penang, Malaysia

A woman and her 11-year-old son were killed on the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Highway in Penang, Malaysia on Tuesday afternoon (December 3), according to The Star Online. The Proton Wira the woman was riding in with six other members of her family reportedly collided with a factory van.

Saodah Hashim, 48, and Nazirul Hafis Muhammad Bakri, 11, sustained head an dbody injuries and died on the spot in the 3.30 p.m. crash
Northeast Penang police deputy chief Supt Ismail Idris said the Bayan Lepas-bound van had skidded before the collision with the car driven by Saodah's family member. The Star Online reported that it was Saodah's sister driving, while other news outlets reported that it was her brother.

The family of seven was from Pantai Merdeka, Kedah, and were in the area for a holiday vacation.
